Operations Director

Spring empowers high growth entrepreneurs to change the world. Based in Gastown, Vancouver, we deliver entrepreneur programs and partner with organizations in 30+ locations around the world to develop the impact entrepreneur ecosystem. Your role is to lead the execution of our various projects and programs, and in doing so develop the tools, processes, and culture of excellence for operations in a rapidly growing global company.

Reporting to the CEO, the Operations Director will assist in the development of a daily culture of operational excellence with the processes, accountability, and support to make this goal sustainable. Along the way, the person will drive specific operations projects and support specific client projects that will inject valuable scalable structure & support into key parts of the business and/or key moments of growth and scale.

You are a people person who prides yourself on your high EQ, maturity, and ability to communicate and understand a wide variety of personalities. You have an uncanny ability to observe people, process, what’s working, and what’s not. You love asking questions to uncover the hidden drivers, goals, and needs. You love to create, fix, improve, bring clarity, train the trainer – and never hesitate to ask for help, rally support and poke until it’s done.

So what will you do?

The majority of your time will be focused on:

    1. Inspiring project-based work, including:
      • Project oversight to ensure all Spring projects are executed on a coordinated basis, delivered on time and within budget with outstanding customer satisfaction
      • Direct operational engagement on specific projects (local or global) as required
      • Driving our project reporting and metrics
    2. Enhancement of Spring’s program-related content and development of best practices for internal content management
    3. Coordination and execution of Spring’s community and communications strategy

And some support for the CEO:

  1. Support the CEO and leadership team in partnership development
  2. Coordinating strategic meetings with partners and customers including pulling in appropriate team members

Experience & Skills

  1. Passionate desire for operations and project management
  2. A genuine interest in people with the passion to help them succeed!
  3. Impactful. You’re passionate about making the world better than it is today.
  4. Post secondary education with experience in leadership and volunteering roles
  5. 5+ years professional experience in operations, project management, and customer support
  6. Prior entrepreneur or startup experience would be an asset
  7. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with strong initiative and supporting communication skills
  8. Strong and diligent decision making ability, a critical thinker
  9. Great attention to detail
  10. Strong “people” skills

    • Great listener and communicator
