Graham Day

Throughout his entire 20 year career, Graham has been involved in impact investing. He is formerly the Chief Investment Officer at Spring, and was one of the founding members of the LGT Impact leading climate and agriculture deals in South America (now Lightrock with $3bn AUM). He is also a former CFO of Sistema.bio, a global regenerative agriculture company and ex-Oliver Wyman.

Over his professional career, Graham has been fortunate to work and live in seven countries spanning North America, Europe and Latin America. Graham has a Masters degree from the Johns Hopkins University in Economics, with a specialization in Energy, Environment and Resources. He also has a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from the Sauder School of Business. 

Fun fact: Graham spends his weekends coaching kids soccer, and perfecting his sailing skills.

Olivia Hornby

Olivia has nearly 20 years experience in finance working with multiple asset classes and $billions of capital from investors. She was formerly a VP at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, at RBC, Vancity, and boutique alternative investment funds in Vancouver and London, UK. She has worked with investors globally – from individuals to the largest sovereign wealth funds and pensions.

She started investing at a young age in stocks and bonds but was always interested in social and environmental themes. After starting a family and leaving Goldman Sachs in 2022, she started angel investing. She has a keen interest in supporting women entrepreneurs and investors, and sits on the Board of the Association of Women in Finance, is an investor with the Women’s Equity Lab and part of the impact investing committee for the Roadburg Foundation. She obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University with a concentration in Finance and a minor in Socio-Cultural Anthropology. 

Fun fact: Like many good Canadians, she spent 2 seasons tree planting in central BC in her youth

Keith Ippel

Keith co-founded Spring in 2010 with a mission to change the world through innovation. Over his 30 years of experience, he has counselled and taught hundreds of entrepreneurs, trained hundreds of angel investors, and coached hundreds of impact investors – from foundations, international groups, government entities to private organizations. He has launched and led multiple companies, and has raised over $80m in angel investment and venture capital.

His fundraising experience includes including Hootsuite (first three rounds), StoryTap, SocialNature, Foodee ($200m exit), Ministry of Programming, ehsAI (acquired), Brightkit (acquired; 3x in 2 years), Careteam, and FoodMesh. Keith has MBA from Ivey Business School (Western University) where he was the MBA Class President.  He also has a Honours Bachelor’s of Business degree from Wilfrid Laurier University.

Fun fact: He loves biking and chocolate. Not at the same time, though.
