COVID-19 and the IMPACT Startup Visa Program

Spring, along with many other businesses, is striving to continue evolving the provision of its services in a manner appropriate during the time of COVID-19. We seek to provide our programming and support safely without compromising on our standards of quality and excellence.

The IMPACT Startup Visa (ISV) Accelerator Program, which helps impact-focused entrepreneurs looking to move their businesses and settle into a new life in Canada, is one of our programs that has undergone significant change.

Moving to Canada is no small feat. It involves a substantial commitment, perhaps the relocation of family, and a transition into a new country and a new life.

While our objective has always been to provide program participants with the training, mentorship, opportunities, and connections needed to unlock growth and maximize their impact in Canada, what we’ve discovered is that the learning process is mutual.

Through our participants, we’ve been reminded of what it means to be impact-driven, bold, brave, curious, and dedicated to a lifetime of personal, professional, and sustainable development. We’ve also learned—and are continuing to learn—what it really means to pick up your life and move to Canada.

Here's what we're doing to account for safety during the COVID-19 pandemic:
  • We’re closely monitoring and communicating with our government contacts in Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to stay updated on the latest immigration updates and advisories.

  • Due to travel restrictions and recommended safety protocols, we’re delivering the IMPACT Startup Visa Program virtually. We’ve adopted the best in digital communication platforms to ease remote communication and foster collaboration.

  • Once travel becomes more flexible, restrictions on gatherings lift, and we can ensure the safety of everyone involved, we aim to once more deliver an in-person experience to help participants connect with our community and settle in.

The 2021-2022 Virtual IMPACT Startup Visa Program

Spring has adapted the IMPACT Startup Visa Program into a seamless digital learning experience emphasizing collaboration and feedback. You will now be able to progress your visa application to Canada while participating in the ISV accelerator—all from the safety and comfort of your home, regardless of your location in the world.

Personalized and Connected Learning

Online learning means you’ll be part of a connected community. The cohorts are limited to an intimate group size so that we can provide personalized and flexible quality training. With the exception of a few core topics, participants decide the trajectory of their learning and growth within the IMPACT Startup Visa Program.

Apart for Now, Together in Time

At Spring, we intend to build long-term relationships with our participants. Once the Canadian government deems it safe to organize large events and gatherings, we’ll offer our current virtual opportunities—such as community support, access to Spring’s knowledge base and staff, and invitations to network and connect with our stakeholders—in-person. We will also welcome community members dropping by our co-working space anytime for a visit!
