The world is at a turning point when it comes to energy consumption, and we’ve seen the devastating effects climate change has on our planet. The case for cleantech and climate solutions innovation is clear, and the solution to this problem lies with the development and support of the cleantech industry. To show our commitment to this important cause, the launch of the inaugural Atlantic Canada Cleantech Scale-up and Investment Challenge will support the vision, to facilitate the transition to a Green Economy that serves people and the planet.
Imaginal Ventures, Foresight Canada, and Spring Activator have collaborated to address this gap in Atlantic Canada.
This program supports ventures that are ready to scale their impact and are ready to start engaging with investors. It also includes Imaginal’s Scale Up program, Foresights Investment Readiness training and Springs Impact Challenge. Early-stage companies have been selected and are currently going through the Scale-up program. The Challenge aims to connect Atlantic Cleantech ventures with investors from across Canada and support them in navigating the investment process and landscape.
This Impact Investor Challenge will place close emphasis on measurable, social and environmental impact in the Cleantech industry, in addition to financial return on investment for investors.
The top early-stage ventures will take all the insight and tools from the Scale-up program and Investment Readiness training and will then pitch alongside a cohort of passionate investors. The investor cohort will vote for the top five companies to present at the Grand Finale pitch event on December 5th, 2023, where they will have the chance to win $100,000 in equity investment. Investors can apply to be a part of the investor group and do not need to be accredited to participate. Investor applications close September 15th, or when filled, limited spaces available.
As we move towards a more sustainable future, cleantech will play a crucial role in ensuring a cleaner and healthier planet for future generations. If you are interested in learning more, please reach out to Christine Whiteside, Program Manager at christine@spring.is.
