Spring Activator Weekly Idea Roundup

Changes and new features are now popping up on some of our favourite social platfoms. This week we look at the changes to Facebook, new WhatsApp and Instagram features as well as how to reach your ideal customers and champion for change using social media.

1.  Facebook moves to ‘fix’ the News Feed by de-emphasizing commercial content

The company said it’s trying to prevent posts from ‘businesses, brands and media’ from crowding out ‘the personal moments that lead us to connect more with each other.’

2. Championing Change in the Age of Social Media

In today’s divisive social and political climate, brands face unprecedented challenges when engaging with consumer audiences on social media. It’s true that speaking out has always been a gamble, but social’s ubiquity, vast reach and viral nature puts brands under a new global microscope. As hot-button issues dominate headlines, many brands have struggled to navigate today’s biggest, and sometimes most controversial, conversations.

3. WhatsApp Just Rolled Out an Android App for Small Businesses

Businesses on Facebook have the Facebook Pages Manager application, and businesses on Messenger have Analytics for Apps data for their Messenger bots. And now, businesses on WhatsApp have some tools of their own.

4. Getting Started with Defining Your Ideal Client

Let me ask you this, if you have clients, and had the chance, right now, to chuck them all, and be able to go out there and say, “I can work with anyone I want to work with,” would you still be working with who you’re working with today?

5. How To Use Instagram’s Story Highlights for Your Business

Back in December of 2017, Instagram released a new feature that has the power to change the way people interact with your business on the platform. They named it “Story Highlights” and, in short, it allows you to have a select group of stories indefinitely highlighted below the bio section of your profile.
