What is Gender Lens Investing?
Gender Lens investing, also known as “gender-smart” investing, takes gender-based issues into consideration when making in investment decisions. Being a gender-smart investor means investing in companies that are committed to:
- Being owned and led by women
- Creating and maintaining a gender-inclusive value chain
- Ensuring operations do no harm to women
- Developing a gender-diverse and equitable workforce
- Designing products or services that consider the distinct needs of women as a consumer segment
What You’ll Learn
Foundations is open to accredited Canadian investors of any gender who are curious about gender lens investing. Through a series of conversations with Spring’s Co-CEO Caroline von Hirschberg and thought leaders, you will:
- Build your personal investment thesis, understanding how to integrate gender-smart decisions in your approach, investments and exits
- Learning from the insights and deals of those at the forefront of this movement
- Develop lifelong connections with values-aligned peers
- Receive early introductions to Spring ventures that have embedded impact and gender-smart approaches
Foundations culminates in a pitch event where you can witness what has been discussed in real life, when 10 women-led ventures from Invest Together in Women-Led Impact 2026 pitch to an audience of investors. You can choose to observe as a Foundations participant or to engage by joining our Supported DD process.

WHere? When?
We are online Monday Nov. 24th to Thursday Nov. 27th from 12PM PDT/3PM EDT to 1:30PM PDT/4:30PM EDT. A second program will run January 26th to 30th at the same times. Both cohorts are invited to the pitch event in January.
Early bird rate is $199 CAD + GST until Nov. 10th and $299 CAD + GST afterward. This fee will be credited as a discount if you choose to participate in one or more stages of Invest Together in Women-Led Impact.
