As you may know, changes have been made to Canada’s Startup Visa program, which affects how we support international founders. Learn more below.
Significant changes have be made to Canada’s Startup Visa program, of which Spring is a designated entity. This affects how we are able to support international founders and limits us to a quota of 10 accepted startups per year. In light of this new reality, we are launching our new Global Impact Startup Visa, a comprehensive 12 to 18-month virtual program that supports immigrant entrepreneurs with a positive social or environmental impact to move to and scale their ventures in Canada. This new program includes:
All 2024 spaces are full. We are accepting rolling WAITLIST applications for 2025. Due to the new limitations, the selection process is highly competitive. Candidates qualified for the next stage of the application process will be contacted, and program fees will be discussed with successful teams only.
You may have heard that the Canadian federal government has made changes to the Start-up Visa Program. As one of the very first designated entities for the SUV, we see their announcement as an opportunity to adapt our programming and further expand our reputation as a trusted partner for international founders and Canadian entrepreneurs who are part of the immigrant community.
